New Music and Upcoming Show

Well, it's February so I believe it's time to stop saying Happy New Year (is there a rule for that?) Anyway, I hope 2024 is starting out well for all of you. After a brief and welcome break at the beginning of the year, my team and I are back at it and wanted to mention a couple of highlights for you to mark.

Not sure if I've mentioned in any of these newsletters that I'm in the studio working on my debut solo album - so exciting! I'm working with renowned soul/r&b/hip hop producer Prince Charles Alexander and it's been a real treat and pleasure to have such a presence helping to guide my new music. PC has also been collaborating on the writing along with me and partner in all crimes, Jerry Velona. A lot of the writing is being done in real time in the studio and that's been a new and very enjoyable experience. We've got three out of ten done so far with two more very close and the plan is to release each as a single throughout 2024 with a release of the full album in early 2025.

The first single from the project will be releasing to the world on Friday, March 1st. It's called Tell Me What You Want and is a funky thang about a gal who deserves to get things done her way; in the club and in life. The chorus is "Tell Me What You Want and I'll Tell You What I Need" so, like, don't be shy! Shoot your shot!! It's super catchy and I get to rap really fast in part of it so you don't wanna miss that. All sorts of new things happening on this album!

For those of you on Spotify, you'd do me a real solid by clicking this link to pre-save the song. It will automatically be in your library on the day it releases. And if you're an Amazon or Apple Music/iTunes person, it will be available for pre-sale on Friday, February 23rd. Just go to the site at that time and search for the song title. (Bless you if you're downloading!)

Lastly, I'l be performing this one and bunch of other originals and funky covers at the

very cool Boston Harbor Distillery on Saturday, March 16th. Doors at 8 PM, show starts at 8:30. I'll have my usual kick-ass band lineup and it's always a fun time playing at BHD, sounds great, comfy, but room to party so wear your dancing footwear of choice! This will be my only solo show for a bit so please come out and get your discounted tickets early here.

Closing with a recently released live performance video of the Janelle Monae tune done as part of the Salt Lick Sessions. Thanks to Roger Brown and everyone at Salt Lick for putting this together. This one will be on the set list for 3/16!
